Help! My boobs sink

While a flabby bust is a natural part of the aging process, it doesn’t mean that they have to look flabby. In fact, with a bra that fits well, your breasts should look lifted and perky, regardless of your age. If your bra doesn’t look like this, it’s time to switch to a new one!

To see if your bra fits the best it can be, stand in front of a mirror and examine your profile. If it fits, your nipple should be halfway between your shoulder and your elbow. If your nipple is lower, your bra does not provide adequate support for your breasts.

It’s all in the band

To check if your bra fits you, first check the size of the band. This is where most of the support should come from. If the band is too loose, it will rise and your breasts will drop later. You can also test to see if your band is too big by placing your fingers under the band; if your fingers can fit, the band is too big! To correct this problem, try lowering a band size while increasing the cup size. For example, if you’re flaccid in a 36C bra, try a 34D.

Proper bra care

If you’re flaccid in a bra that fits well, your bra is probably dead. Sorry, ladies. Your bra is not Elvis. It won’t come back to life, no matter what you do.

Bras usually last six to nine months. Life expectancy depends on the size of your breasts and how you wash and store your bras. The larger your breasts, the shorter the lifespan. A 34J bra does ten times more work than a 34A. Bras are under a lot of pressure and will stretch and weaken over time. To delay the inevitable, buy bras that fit the loosest hook. As the bra stretches, gradually lower to the tightest hook. When you’re on the tightest hook and your fingers can now fit between the band and your skin, it’s time to bury that bra!

Another way to protect your arm is to avoid the dryer. Heat damages the elastic band so it will lose its support faster.
