How to make a tile roof deck

The roof can be designed to be flat, cone-shaped, stacked, or sloped. The construction industry has evolved from traditional iron roofing sheets to modern technology tiles. They can be stone-coated sheets, clay or concrete tiles, concrete and roof tiles. The different designs have also allowed the use of integrated materials. This can be the use of wood as a cover, bitumen as a base and tiles as a cover. The wood can be tongue-and-groove or chipboard.

The wooden ceiling can be formed to have various aesthetic characteristics. This range ranges from hidden gutters to boards without fascia at the eaves. On the exposed eaves, carved wood is used. The joists are visible under the board deck or tongue-and-groove structure. Hidden gutters are attached just before the eaves. They then have pipes to take the water out of the building structure. The ends of the rafters are cut at ninety degrees instead of following the slope angle of the roof.

Tile roof construction begins after the circular beam. The wall plate is anchored to the stud with bolts or other suitable and approved method. After fixing the wall plate, the roof structure is made with beams and struts according to the design. When complete, straps are added across the rafters. The deck boards are then attached to the purlins. Joists should be spaced at least two feet apart and purlins three feet apart. Boards are typically four feet wide by eight feet long.

Once the entire roof is boarded up, the last line of about two feet is left. This is the area for exposed eaves using tongue and groove covers. Next, the deck is covered with bitumen. This method allows the roof to have a dramatic slope without fear of leaks. The bitumen is placed with overlaps and a torch is used to seal the joints. It is also done along chimneys or walls that go through the roof. Tiles are then laid on top of the bitumen. They were placed with overlaps of about two inches.
