How to remove tattoos at home: apricot scrub, aloe vera and other homemade theories

One of the home tattoo removal methods that is rumored to work is using things like apricot scrub, aloe vera, salt, and even sandpaper which has come up several times. These home methods are the ones that people will investigate as they are cheaper than using other simple methods, but do these methods really work or are they just theories?

aloe vera

People who have undergone laser tattoo removal use aloe vera a lot due to the fact that the water-based solution will be able to pull out broken pigments from the ink on the body after the laser removal process.

However, with removal alone, this method has been said to be very effective for those with newer ink pieces. The reason for this is that aloe vera is a water based substance and therefore with a new tattoo it will trap parts of the ink and make it harder to stay on the skin.

There is sense behind this method, however, it cannot be said that what will happen will actually work for the entire piece, it may only fade parts of the tattoo.

Apricot scrub (and salt)

It has been said that some suggestions go through using apricot scrub and salt too (it acts as a scrub).

The salt would act as an abrasion to break through the first layer of skin and then the apricot scrub would do the rest (some people even mix aloe vera and old vitamin together as well to try to break down the pigments).

Again, the best you could do with something like this is go and fade parts of the unwanted ink, not all of it as effectively as you’d like.

home dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is the method of rubbing the area and peeling the skin. For home methods, I would look to mix sanding powder with aloe vera and gently rub it into the skin with a pumice stone to break down the skin and ink pigments.

Which method to choose?

With natural home methods like this, what you are trying to achieve is the act of breaking down the layers of skin and the pigment of the ink in the skin.

Now what you will need to understand is that methods like this will take a long time to work and at the same time they may not be as effective as you hoped they would be.

variations

There are other methods you can easily use such as tattoo removal creams which have actually been shown to work and will still be cheaper than what you would pay for surgical dermabrasion or laser tattoo surgery (although this is the most popular method). method that is working right now) these creams are proven to work to break down tattoo pigment and fade/remove a tattoo over the course of weeks (or months depending on size) and best of all you can use it to remove tattoos at home
