The infamous German automaker company Audi turns out to be the creator of the Audi A6, one of the best executive cars ever built. It is still available in two different body styles as Avant and sedan/saloon. The various generations of A6 cars were available in the market in two units: the four-wheel drive system and the front-wheel drive system.

Audi Allroad Quattro and A6 Allroad Quattro were designed on the basis of the second and third generation of the A6. The C4 variant of the Audi 100 was launched in the year 1994 followed by the introduction of the larger A8. The A6’s diesel engine produced a direct injection turbocharged 1.9 with an output of 138 bhp, while the petrol engine offered three options in 2.3, 2.8 and 1.8 L with a similar capacity of 138 bhp.

Based on performance, the newer C4 variant of the Audi A6 was launched which included a 4.2L V8 engine with 286bhp. In the 1997 year, Audi announced the release of an advanced version of the A6 car with a modified engine and other features. In the automobile market, this car gave healthy competition to the famous Mercedes-Benz E-class and BMW 5-series cars.

This car was designed in Italy with a low drag coefficient of just 0.28. The Audi C5 earned a place in Car and Driver magazine’s top ten list in 2000 and 2001. From an engine standpoint, a new five-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission technology was used instead of the manual transmission .

Whether you consider the first Audi A6 model or the latest 2010 A6, each of the models in the lineup meant serious business and presented an excellent choice for all business-class car customers.
