Banana split party: hostess provides ice cream, guests provide toppings. Guests bring a banana dressed up for a banana fashion show to be judged by the guests. The winning banana gets a prize.

Beach Party – Keep that summer feeling going all year long. The guests bring their bathing suits in a brown paper bag for everyone to guess who belongs in the suit.

Chocolate Lovers Party – Serve up chocolate treats. Guests bring their favorite chocolate recipe. A fun chocolate contest is given. How well do your guests know your chocolate?

Christmas in August: many special offers for hosts and guests. First look at the beautiful new Christmas line. Each guest receives a sample or car candle.

Come and Go Party – On the go? Juggling too many things at once? Have friends come and go in the allotted time period. I draw every 30 minutes.

Couples Party – Bring the couples together for a fun time by candlelight. Men LIKE candles, so why not put them together with you so you can find out what other people like? All couples receive a gift.

Garden or patio party: Host your show in your garden or on the patio/terrace. Guests wear a garden hat or a large floppy hat. Drawing for the best hat, the funniest, the ugliest.

Fundraiser Party – Looking for a new fundraising idea? Why not support your favorite cause while guests buy their candles?

Halloween Party: Challenge your guest to come dressed up and win a gift. Goody bags for everyone who brings a friend. Serve apple cider, pumpkin pie, or sweet apples.

Hawaiian Shirt Party – A little bit of the islands here on the mainland. A little Don Ho music, your favorite tropical drinks and a lei and you can have Hawaii in your living room. Guests who wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt will receive a gift.

Mardi Gras Party – Any day can be Mardi Gras. Guests who dress in Mardi Gras colors, wear beads, or a mask are awarded a gift.

Shared party: guests bring a dish related to their nationality. What a great way to experience another culture and cuisine through Scentsylight.

Red, White and Blue Party – Celebrate the good old red, white and blue. Award for the best national costume.

Salad Party: Each guest brings a salad ingredient or salad specialty. All melon flavors are on sale.

Shower Party: Whether it’s a baby, wedding, anniversary, or housewarming, shower someone with a [Your Candle Company] gift shower. Encourage brides to complete our gift registry. For the new mom, fill her with gifts she can use. What better way to decorate your home at no cost than with a [Your Candle Company] opening party. Candles, Warmers and Wax in every room!

Strawberry Shortcake or Strawberry and Chocolate Party – Or try a fondue party. All strawberry and chocolate flavors are on sale.

Sample Scavenger Hunt: Wax samples hide in the backyard or around the house. The guests keep what they find.

Tropical Drink Party: Get out the blender, put the ice in a bag, and let’s party. Serve various tropical drinks and relax with friends.

Ugly Sail Contest – Admit it, we all have ugly sails hidden away. Bring them out to the party for an ugly candlelight contest. The winner of the ugly candle goes home with a new one. This also works well for the most sooty candle. We all know that wicked candles, no matter what wax is used, can produce ugly black soot on the rim. Who has the blackest?

Very Berry Party – Make berry desserts or berry toppings for cheesecake or ice cream. All berry scents are for sale.

White Elephant Party – Your trash could be someone else’s treasure. Bring a wrapped unwanted “treasure” from home. You will go home with someone else’s “treasure” at the end of the night.

Wine and Cheese Party – Kick back with friends over some wine, cheese, and warmers. Bask in the warm glow of each one’s candles as you celebrate life.

Two more excellent tracks contributed by Vicki Doran. Thanks Vicky!

The Tacky Party was by far the most attended party I’ve ever done, and we had a blast! Think tacky, tacky, tacky—the tackier, the better! Everyone was told to dress tacky, and the winner received a prize: a glowing lawn flamingo that I bought for a couple of dollars at a local craft store. The invitations were printed on scrap paper left over from the neighborhood garage sale (there was a big “x” on the back to cross out the garage sale information). We did a quiz to see who was the most tacky, and the hostess served up tacky foods like Pop Tarts, Slim Jims, prunes, Little Debbie Snacks, generic sodas (or sodas as we call them in these places, haha!) and wine. in a box. She used all of her children’s leftover plates and napkins for the party. I wore a skirt with athletic socks and high heels, and on my T-shirt I stuck stickers with all the house party slogans you’ve ever heard. Let’s face it, things like “Earn a little free when you party with me” or “Are you low on money? Book a show” are fine, but when you have like a dozen different ones at once, it’s definitely tacky!

My hostess even decorated the front yard with a clothesline displaying giant granny panties and a bra, broken lawn chairs, old tires, and an empty beer crate. The best part of all of this is that the house next door was for sale, and at one point we were outside in our tacky outfits greeting the next visitor, while the real estate agent showed the house! You should have seen the look on his face: I thought he was going to die!

The 80’s party was fun too – I made up name tags of famous people from the 80’s and everyone chose one when they arrived. We had an 80s quiz and a contest for best 80s hair. Sadly, the woman who won best 80s hair has her hair like this every day! lol She took it very well though!

Hope this helps: theme parties can be as big or as small as you like. Obviously my friend went above and beyond for Tacky Party, but you don’t have to do all that and you can still have a great Tacky Party. One of the things my hostess loved was how easy the refreshments were to make! After all, it doesn’t take much to crack open some pies and crack open Little Debbie sandwiches!

Look out, happy party!
