Why not invite a friend to a “party rehearsal”? You can have a lot of fun together and avoid last minute panic on your big night out.
Party makeup. At this time of year you can have a lot of fun with your makeup, introducing glitter and shine to your look. We also love some of the sparkles we’ve seen this year, including the red tones in the eyes – how festive! Try smokey eyes and bare, sparkly lips, or go for festive gold or seasonal silver, the options are endless. If you like to keep your usual look, why not add a point of shine and blend it in the middle of your upper lids? This will really open your eyes. Likewise, a dash of gloss in the center of your lower lip will emphasize your pout. Have fun with your makeup by trying something new, but don’t go too far and end up looking like a drag queen – unless that’s the look you’re after, of course!
Party hair. Your hair can really add to your image, so make the most of it with braids, locks, or a fabulous hairstyle. Ask a stylist for ideas when choosing your next cut or color and try something new. Pick out some of the pretty accessories around, they can provide an easy way to brighten up your hairstyle. We wouldn’t recommend a last minute homemade dye, it may have worked for Cheryl Cole, but that’s no guarantee it will do it for you. If you are toying with the idea of a color change, always think it over and see a professional colorist.
Shoes. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t wear pretty heels, just make sure you have the elevators organized to and from the venue and please put on your new shoes before heading out for the night. This season’s trends include buckled and lace-up shoes, kitten heels, and wedges. Our favorite look for party shoes has to do with the recent obsession with velvet. If you can find a pair of velvet heels, they will really add a touch of modern glamor to your outfit. Embellished shoes always look pretty for Christmas and New Years parties; think of gemstones, mirrors, crystals, and even feathers and bows.
Dresses. Gold and red dresses work great for the Christmas period, but if these colors aren’t for you, you can try anything with a little sequin detail or dress up LBT in some gorgeous jewelry or a faux fur wrap.
