There are many advantages to being a priest. You can deal spell damage to your enemies or heal yourself and your allies. Being a healer is usually popular in a dungeon, especially if you are a good healer. Quests are still the fastest way to level up a character. But being able to heal doesn’t mean leveling up fast if you don’t know how to fight mobs when you’re alone. Here are my cheats for just my priests.

As a spell caster, first of all the most basic rule is to make sure you have drinks in your bags. It’s amazing how many people often forget to bring enough drinks when they’re on a quest. Without drinks, you can’t recharge your mana quickly. Instead of quickly drinking and engaging in your next fight, you’ll have to wait for your mana to recharge naturally. That will slow down the search for you.

Second, you want a good DPS (damage per second) wand. The higher the DPS on a wand, the better. This way you can still do a lot of damage when you run out of mana. And most of all, you want gears that have bonus intel, spirit, stamina, and spell power if possible. Intellect is your mana, spirit is your mana regeneration rate, stamina is your amount of health, and spells will do more damage than they should have with the spell power bonus. And always remember to heal yourself when necessary.

discipline priest

Discipline Priests are known for mana regeneration. As a priest of discipline, you want a good dps wand, spell power bonus gears with intel, spirit stats, and mana regeneration. Spirit because that’s your mana regen. And this is your basic combat tactic.

Always put your shield on before you enter combat, that way you can use it again in the middle of combat once the cooldown to recast the shield is over. Mind Blast Spell, followed by Word Shadow Pain Spell, then Holy Fire, Smite, and Smite. That will usually take care of the individual mob.

Or if you want to conserve mana like I usually do. I use shield, mind blast, word pain shadow, then use my wand until the mob dies. Recast mind blast and shadow of word pain only if needed. This way you will conserve a large amount of mana to last you through numerous fights until you have to sit down and drink again. With spirit creation and talent points like Meditation and Enlightenment, you’ll further increase your mana regeneration during combat.

holy priest

like a holy priest. You want a team build similar to the Priest of Discipline. Due to the Spirit Guide talent point, the higher your spirit is, the more damage and healing spell power you will have, plus it is also your mana regeneration.

The combat tactic is more or less the same as disciplining the priest. Shield, mind blast, word pain shadow, holy fire, punch and punch. Or more mana conservation focus. Shield, mind blast or holy fire, shadow word pain, and use your wand.

The good thing about holy priests is that they are more popular to be invited to dungeons. So all you have to do is heal your party members and not worry about helping kill mobs. However, I find a common misconception that holy priests are better than disciplined priests. That is not true at all. Sure, the Holy Priest can heal slightly more than the other specs, but that doesn’t mean the Disciplined Priest isn’t capable of healing or dealing spell damage. Given the same gear, the Discipline Priest generally lasts longer in combat due to their mana regen generation. I know this because my discipline priest mana pool usually outclasses a holy priest in a raid. Lasting longer means you will heal more in the end.

shadow priest

Shadow priests are designed to deal a high amount of damage with spells and are therefore easier to use solo. But until they’re leveled up enough to get Vampiric Touch and Dispersion, they’ll need to drink more often than the other two specs, because the spells require more mana. Therefore, Spirit Tap is a must for the shadow priest. As a shadow priest, he wants his gears to be based on intellect, stamina, bonus spell power, and crit. Critical because then there’s a chance you’ll do two or three times as much damage, depending on how high your critical score is.

At a low level, even before you have Mind Flay, your spell tactics will be the same as the other two specs. Once you have Mind Flay it will be shield, mind blast, shadow of word pain and mind flay.

Since the Shadow Priest cannot use holy spells to heal in Shadowform, it is crucial to include Vampiric Embrace in your combat to heal. And Vampiric Touch for mana regeneration. So your best combat spells in shadow form are now Shield, Mind Blast, Vampiric Embrace, Vampiric Touch, Shadow of Verbal Pain, and Keep Mind Flayed until the target dies.

I have been playing World of Warcraft since the game was released years ago. I love playing the priest class and I have several priests. These combat tactics work best for me, and I hope you’ll also find them useful for soloing your priest class, no matter what specialization you choose.
