The 2011 London Toy Fair is poised to break new ground with a record number of exhibitors from across the toy industry coming together under one roof in the prestigious Olympia Grand Hall. There will be a wide variety of toymakers in attendance, from major players like LEGO, Hasbro and Spin Master to smaller independent toy companies like Wow Stuff, Bladez Toys, Melissa & Doug and Zappies. All of them are vying for the attention of retail buyers and industry specialists by showcasing their key ranges for the coming year. But the big question is: which of these innovative new products will be among the best toys of 2011?

There are a number of toys from several different categories that seem to do very well next year. A good guide is the products that have been nominated for the 2011 Best New Toys Awards.

Ben 10 continues to dominate the children’s toy market and the new Ben 10 Ultimate Alien range introduces a whole new collection of toys for fans to purchase. One of the most popular products is sure to be the Ben 10 Alien Creation Chamber. One of the best toys for girls to look out for in the coming months is the Moshi Monsters, a fantastic collectible range that has the added appeal of a world in line for girls from all over the world to interact. The Moshi Monsters are one of the most talked about toys at this year’s Toy Fair.

The preschool toy range is always very popular and one of the fastest growing lines is Ben and Holly, based on the animated children’s television show Ben and Hollys Little Kingdom. Ben and Holly’s Magic Wand is a must-have for little fairies everywhere and is sure to be one of the best-selling toys of 2011.

Interactive electronic pets are becoming more sophisticated and realistic, and some of the newcomers this year are no exception. Benji My Best Friend from Animagic is a beautiful white fluffy puppy that looks and behaves just like a real puppy – Benji is sure to be a bestseller in 2011.

It’s still too early to predict the best-selling toys when Christmas is 11 months away, but the toy market is always moving forward and has produced many success stories in 2010 and many more to come this year.
