Daylight saving time is approaching Moab Utah. Activity for children too. These are some of the favorite places for children to go to play. Here are four prominent places to look with kids and teens.

sand hill-
Affectionately named by Moab locals. It is located off the entrance road to Arches National Park. Go up and slide down. The steep hill offers a challenge for children of all ages and is great for burning off some energy. A perpetual sand hill that replenishes itself even after truckloads of sand are removed year after year.

Anonymous Park –
These motocross jumps attract the souls of BMX racing. Located at the end of Mill Creek Parkway off 500 West, Anonymous Park is a tribute to dirt jumping, bike motocross and BMX tricks. A series of kickers lead to a fun course that has been developed. Another field is located next to the Old Spanish Trail Arena.

Disc golf course –
This new community course plays through a beautiful red rock setting with sweeping views of sandstone cliffs and great mountain peaks. It runs through varied desert terrain and is dotted with pinyon pines and junipers. A few distinctive holes lead it out of the junipers into the tight spaces of Russian olive groves.

The course is equipped with 18 DISCatcher PRO targets, signs on each tee that map the hole, directional signs to take you to a confusing spot for novices, and dirt tees (for now). Dogs on leashes are allowed on the course (DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED in Old City Park). PLEASE pick up pet waste. There is no fee to use the course.

Public skate park –
The Moab City Skatepark is the result of a great deal of hard work by people in the community who believe that kids need a place to express their creativity on wheels. It is located at 400 North 199 West within Swanny City Park. There was an impressive grassroots effort by the youth of Moab to fund and establish the Park. The park was built in 1999 and was an immediate success! Occasional tournaments are held at the Skate Park, sponsored by the youth of Moab’s Club Red.

Warning: Skateboarding, rollerblading, skateboarding, and bicycling can be dangerous recreational activities. The use of these installations can cause serious injuries. Use it at your own risk. The City of Moab assumes no responsibility for injuries. Emergency: Call 911 Moab Police 259-8938. The hospital is located at 719 West 400 North. (The hospital will be at the intersection of Williams Way and 500 West by December 2010.)
